I installed this on an 18" oscillating pedestal fan and it works extremely well. Even here in the DFW area with our humid air, this misting ring paired with a strong metal blade fan can really cool things down. We already have some fixed position misting nozzles on our back patio. Those do work, however, the wind generally doesn't provide enough airflow to allow the water to evaporate quickly. This ring paired with our fan can run during the daytime (sunny) hours and not put a drop on the concrete. I place it out on the sidewalk just outside our patio or I set it in our driveway and run in parallel with my garage door. On the hot and sunny days, you can definitely feel the temperature difference. I was quite amazed at how cool I was able to keep my garage just the other day, while also, not getting anything wet.

It is easy to install, simply zip tie it to your fan cage in the center. The tubing is push lock, so simply slide the tubing in to the control valve and the control valve into the misting ring and installation is complete. If you are using an oscillating fan, be sure to leave some slack in the line so it can move. If you are having a gathering or are sitting outside, it is best to position the fan 20-30 feet away, upwind and allow the fan to blow across the breeze that is already heading towards you.
